In 2013 Satya Jewelry chose VMGROUPE to become their agency of record, because of our extensive experience in the fashion retail space, our innovative & progressive approach with emerging technology, film, photography, and creative design that is combined to create new, unique, and deeply meaningful digital experiences shared between brands and their audience.
Our first engagement with Satya Jewelry consisted of a full rebrand of their identity, redesign of their Magento based eCommerce website, a new marketing/ public relations campaign, and the design and build out of their first Design Concept Flagship retail store at 10 Columbus Circle
To help Satya Jewelry reposition their brand in the market space VMGROUPE started by conducting a brand workshop where we extracted the DNA of what this brand could be, and who it is currently. The process allowed us to simplify our target audience and the various brand elements that we needed to engage with the audience. Next we used this information to define the direction that was most profitable for their business, and position the brand accordingly.
Next VMGROUPE’s designers created a new brand identity, including a Logo, in store jewelry display designs, hangtags, packaging design, brand book and guidelines. Once the new brand assets were in place VMGROUPE began creating the site architecture for the new eCommerce website taking in account on how our digital strategists, and technologists recommended integrating select social elements, and emerging technology into the website.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Upon completion of the site architecture our designers and UX team provided the brand with several design concepts based off the new brand assets, and one direction was chosen. Next we began to design the websites internal product pages, and the responsive design for the tablet, and mobile versions of the website based off the wireframes. Once all the designs were complete we handed over the final designs to their internal development team. VMGROUPE remained involved throughout the development process to ensure that the designs were properly implemented and every pixel was perfectly placed.
UNIQUE CONTENT CREATION
To help populate the new website with products, and introduce Satya Jewelry’s newest collection VMGROUPE’s co-founder Daniel Garriga shot and filmed the advertising campaign for both the Fall/Winter 2013, and Spring Summer 2014 campaign. The FW13 advertising campaign entitled “The Peacock Collection” features fashion model Varsha Thapa wearing the jewel-toned majestic bird as a symbol of beauty and grace. The Peacock collection celebrates the captivating luminosity of the peacock plumage.
For the SS14 campaign entitled “The Tree of Life Collection” Daniel Garriga shot & filmed fashion model Rachelle Goulding wearing jewelry inspired by the four elements of the universe to celebrate the sense of grounding that is accessible only we open our senses to the Earth’s expressions in nature.
The new eCommerce website launched in September 2013. Since the site launch Satya Jewelry’s online sales have grown 30%. The average amount on time spent on the website has doubled, overall traffic is up 188%, organic traffic increased 207%, and email newsletter subscriptions went up 377%.
To help promote the launch the FW14 campaign VMGROUPE hosted a special 2-day VIP event at the trendy James Hotel in NYC. The event was a partnership between Satya Jewelry and Serene Social, and it offered invitees the chance to participate in the activity that inspired Satya to create the brand-Yoga. The invitation only event was hosted during the heart of fashion week and attendees received a complimentary Satya Jewelry sample and yoga mat. The event was very successful; over 100+ attendees maxed out the roof top space at the James Hotel. VMGROUPE integrated curated photos and interviews from the event into the Satya’s website, and across all of the brand’s social mediums.
RETAIL STORE DESIGN & BUILD
Once the Satya Jewelry store location was finalized VMGROUPE provided the concept, design drawings, construction drawings, architectural blueprints (in collaboration with one of VMGROUPE’s affiliated licensed architects), engineering with a license engineer consultant, design, decor, permits, project management, general construction management, material resourcing, build-out, construction of millwork, and handled the approval submissions to the owners of the Time Warner Center building. (The store took 2.5 months from start to finish)
In December 2013 Satya Jewelry opened the store. To help promote and celebrate the grand opening VMGROUPE managed, and planned a special event. The event invited key press, and media as part of their public relations push. The event was hosted by model/DJ Atlanta de Cadenet-Taylor, and DJ Chelsea Leyland spun music for the night.
